Filling Types
Composite Filling;
It is not noticeable on the tooth with various color options and is called aesthetic white filling. They can be used in almost all dental caries. They can be applied and polished in a single session. It is the most practical and economical option.
Porcelain Filling;
Impressions are taken from the cavity prepared in porcelain fillings and sent to the laboratory. When the patient comes to the next session, the polished porcelain filling is adhered to the cavity. It is the method in which the most successful results are obtained in terms of aesthetics and function.
Amalgam Filling;
It is the process of placing the alloy formed by mixing silver, tin, copper and mercury into the cavity. After the cavity cleaned from caries is filled with amalgam filling material, it is recommended not to use that area for two hours and not to chew anything hard for 24 hours. The well-hardened filler should be polished after 24 hours.

Dental filling care is no different from the care of normal teeth. it is easy. You’ll be doing your best care by keeping up with your regular dental care routine, brushing and flossing twice a day. Tooth decay after filling is only possible if the bonds between the filling and tooth enamel are broken. Caries may occur due to the accumulation of food residues in the cavity that will form here and the effect of bacteria. However, caries can always be prevented by regular cleaning.
The sensitivity after the filling will end in two to four weeks. However, if you think that no progress has been made during this period, it would be useful to contact your dentist.
