Tooth extraction

Detail

Sometimes teeth need to be extracted due to advanced caries, bone-jaw disease or trauma. Removal of a tooth is called tooth extraction. Tooth extraction is a short and easy procedure, it is normal to experience some discomfort and swelling afterwards. Although some feared earlier, this procedure is no longer painful thanks to modern anesthetics and analgesics. People with severe dental caries and severe toothache are relieved by tooth extraction and can then heal their missing teeth with treatments such as dental implants or bridges. Extraction is also a treatment used to make room in the mouth for braces, other orthodontic treatments, or, in the case of pediatric patients, to make room for adult teeth to grow.

Roughly speaking, tooth extraction is the removal of a tooth from the mouth. Tooth extraction is an operation that is generally applied when a tooth is damaged by external factors (breakage, etc.), decayed, or cannot be saved by root canal treatment. Then it is done to prepare the place if the dental implant will be placed upon request. Although the tooth is healthy, in some cases, advanced gum disease can be another factor that causes tooth extraction.
